Palmer Norman Rudey
5 November 1896 ---- 23 June 1946

Palmer Norman Rudey, son of Pauline and John Rudey, was born at Fertile, Iowa, November 5, 1896. He passed away on the evening of June 23rd at the Mercy hospital in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 49 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

He was confirmed and baptized in the Lutheran faith as a child. His boyhood days were spent at Greenbush, Minnesota, and in the southern parts of Saskatchewan, Canada. In early manhood he attended Waldorf college at Forest City, Iowa, and later was employed as an electrician in this community. On July 25, 1921, he was married to Berna Lorraine Gambell of Forest City. To this union five children were born, Mrs. Lysle Wilson (Virginia) of Eagle Grove; Jack, U. S. Marine Air Corps., San Diego, Calif.; and Carol, Robert, and Ronnie of Denver, Colo.

In the fall of that year they moved to Emmetsburg, Iowa, where Mr. Rudey was employed five years with the Iowa Public Service Co. In 1926 he was transferred to Eagle Grove where they made their home until 2 years ago when the family moved to Denver, Colo., in hopes of finding relief for Mr. Rudey's health. He was employed by the Union Pacific railroad up until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife and five children, one grandchild, three brothers, Nick of Lake Elma, Saskatchewan, Canada; Peter of Olympia, Washington; John of Yakima, Washington. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Stensrud of Forest City, Iowa; and Mrs. Carl Heriem of Westby, Montana.

Mr. Rudey was a very kind and considerate husband and father. His many friends remember him as a friendly person, one who would do his utmost for a neighbor. He will be greatly missed by his family and by a large number of close friends.

Services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Wilson's Chapel with Rev. Harry N. Throckmorton, pastor of the Baptist church of Hampton, Iowa in charge.

Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
