Gerald Edwin Knox was born January 24, 1907, in Marion County, Iowa, the son of Alex and Emma Berquest Knox.
He received his education in the Knoxville, Iowa schools and attended Coe College, Cedar Rapids.
Mr. and Mrs. Knox operated a home decorating business and furniture manufacturing business in Knoxville until retiring and moving to Goldfield in December of 1974.
He was united in marriage to Gladise Larson of Knoxville, December 24, 1939.
Gerald was admitted to the Trinity West Hospital, Fort Dodge, on Monday, August 11, after becoming ill at home. He died there on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the age of 68 years, six months, 19 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 on Friday August 15, at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Pastor Orville Sanderson officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
