James K. Heotis
12 October 1890 --- 25 February 1943

James Heotis, son of Constantene and DeMetra Heotis, was born in Meligala, Greece, October 12, 1890, and died at the home of Andrew Dramalis February 25, 1943, at the age of 52 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

When 19 years of age he left his home and journeyed to America, settling in Irwin, Iowa. He remained there until the year 1912, when he was called to the army in his native country. After serving two years in the army during the Balkan States War he returned to the United States, settling in Carroll, Iowa.

Ho remained in Carroll until the year 1919, when he came to Eagle Grove, purchasing a half interest in the present Boston shine parlor.

In 1929 he sold his place to Andrew Dramalis and returned to Greece to visit his mother for a short time.

Returning to Eagle Grove, he was employed by Andrew Dramalis and stayed in his employ until the date of his death.

He was a dependable worker and a trustworthy and honest man. He has many friends in and around Eagle Grove.

Besides two brothers in Greece and several cousins he leaves to mourn his passing his nephew, Andrew Dramalis, and family, and many friends.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. Harvey Thorckmorton. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
