Funeral services for Eddie L. Bygness were held Monday afternoon, Mar. 27, at 2 o'clock at the Blake Funeral Home with the Rev. Akos G. Papp, pastor of the Renwick E.U.B. Church officiating. Interment was in Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield.

Thursday evening, Mar. 23, he suffered a sudden heart attack and died in a few minutes as he sat in his favorite chair in his home.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel, his son, Harrold, and daughter-in-law, Roberta of Goldfield, six grandchildren, two brothers, S. O. Bygness of Goldfield; and Jeffrey Bygness of Eagle Grove; and one sister, Evelyn, Mrs. LeRoy Switzer of Denver, Colo.

Eddie Lawrence Bygness, oldest son of Eric E. and Sarah Heggen Bygness, was born in Boone Township, Wright County, Iowa on Jan. 14, 1895. He was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Norwegian language at Lake Lutheran church by the Rev. H. C. Holm. He attended rural schools and his Early life was spent in farming.

On Sept. 1, 1920 he was married to Hazel McCallum at Goldfield. They had one son, Harrold Lawrence. In 1948 they purchased their home in Renwick, where he did carpenter work and painting. Since 1949 he had been a residential deputy assessor for Humboldt County and from 1958 to 1962 was county weed commissioner, serving for three years as secretary-treasurer for the 16-county North Iowa Weed Commissioners Association. For the past 17 years he has been a member of the Renwick Evangelical United Brethren church.
