Robert "Bob" T. Cameron was born on October 14, 1919, to Edwin and Jessie Campbell Cameron in Livermore, Iowa. He attended country school north of Goldfield and then Goldfield High School. He farmed for about 6 years, then moved to Waterloo, where he worked until called to service in 1942. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was united in marriage with Melva Jean Manlick at Reinbeck on June 26, 1942. After the service, he returned to Wright County and went to work for Iowa Public Service from 1952 to 1960. He then moved to Ames, where he worked construction, building the National Animal Disease Laboratory. In 1962, he went to work for the government at the Animal Disease Lab until his retirement in 1984. In 1985, he returned to Eagle Grove. He was a member of the Goldfield American Legion Post #370. He participated in a ministry serving the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Webster City called "Music For The Lord."

Robert T. Cameron died Saturday, September 26, 1998, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City at the age of 78.

Survivors include his wife, Melva Jean; one daughter, Patricia Mackey, and husband Gary, Boone; one son, Wayne Cameron, Ames; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Benjiman Cameron of Anchorage, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Paul, Donald, John, Verne, Alan, Lenard, and Russell; and one sister, Dorothy.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 30,1998, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield with Reverend Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial was held in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements
