Dows - Mrs. Gettie A. Ball, age 91 of Hill City, South Dakota, former Dows resident, passed away Thursday, October 13 at a hospital in Rapid City. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Van Hove Funeral Home in Dows. Rev. Frank Considine officiated at the last rites and burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Ball was born October 21, 1868 at Delhi, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson. She was married to Frank M. Ball March 13, 1891 and after their marriage they made their home in Dows, where she spent most of her life.

Surviving are two sons, Harry of Dows and George of Seattle, Washington and one daughter, Mrs. John (Hazel) Sears of Hill City, South Dakota with whom Mrs. Ball made her home the past one and one-half years. Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters and three brothers.
