After years of illness and months of intense suffering Mrs. John Cameron is at rest having passed away Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Cameron was one of the most beloved women of this community, where she had been a resident for about forty years. Her active interest in every charitable work for the church and the community and her great devotion to her home and family made her a character whose influence will live after she has left us, in the hearts of her friends.

The funeral services Thursday at 2 p. m. at the M. E. church where her christian service had been given freely for so many years was conducted by her pastor Rev. A. E. Buriff assisted by Rev. W. G. Comin of the U. P. church. A beautiful offering of flowers was evidence of the love and sympathy of many friends. Mrs. Cameron’s friends are many as all who knew her loved her, but the immediate family are her husband and son, Ed Cameron and family of Livermore, three daughters, Mrs. C. H. Kelling of Ledyard, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Campbell and daughter Gertrude and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones and son Wesley of Goldfield.

Mrs. John Cameron, daughter of William and Jane Paskin, was born in Tipton, Staffordshire, England, on February 19, 1855, and passed away at her home in Goldfield, Iowa, October 16, 1922.

With her mother and four other children she came to this country in 1867, her father having preceded them by one and one-half years. The reunited family lived in Newburgh, Ohio, for one and one-half years and then moved to Moingona, Iowa, and afterward to Zenorville, Iowa, where on March 3, 1873, she was married to John Cameron. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron made their home on a farm in Story county, later removing to a farm in Boone county.

In 1873 they moved to their farm near Goldfield, where they with their family resided until in the year 1901 when they moved to Goldfield, which has since been their home, until the translation of Mrs. Cameron to the home eternal.

In early girlhood Mrs. Cameron found the way of peace with God through faith; a way which she adorned by a faithful und consistent life until the end. For many years she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Goldfield, faithful in attendance on its services and abundant in good works.

She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband and four children: Mrs. Agatha J. Kelling, of Ledyard, Iowa, Edwin C. Cameron, of Livermore, Iowa; and Mrs. Edith C. Jones and Mrs. Martha G. Campbell, of Goldfield, together with eleven grandchildren. One sister and two brothers also survive her, with other relatives and friends, the last being numbered only by the circle of her acquaintance.

Mrs. John Cameron entered into rest on Monday at 2:00 p. m., October 16, 1922, at her home in east Goldfield. She had been in poor health for several years and confined to her bed for about four months, the most of the time in intense suffering that wrung the hearts of friends to see. The best of care by relatives and nurses was given her during all this time.

The funeral was Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. church of which organization she had been for many years a devout and consistent member. A good wife, mother and friend has gone. The pastor, Rev. A. E. Buriff, officiated. A tender sympathetic sermon was given by him. A large crowd was there and the floral gifts were profuse. Many relatives from away were in attendance. The interment was in Glenwood cemetery.

Sarah Paskins was born in 1855. She was married in early womanhood to John Cameron, who survives her. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. W. H. Kelling of Ledyard, Mrs. H. H. Jones and Mrs. Joseph Campbell of Goldfield, and one son, Ed. of Livermore. Also, seven grandchildren, one sister and two brothers and numerous other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her passing. Until her health failed Mrs. Cameron was an active worker in the various organizations of her church, having been a Sunday School teacher, Aid Society president and holding other offices. She always loved the religious services of any church and attended them when possible for her to do so. She loved her Bible and enjoyed the communion of the Holy Spirit and was ready when “the one clear call" came for her.

Sincere sympathy is felt for all the bereaved ones. The writer feels a dear friend of many years has gone of whom it is very hard to write, and only God can comfort.
