Mrs. Sarah Farmer died on April 9, 1900, at 2:40 p. m., in her 83d year. “Grandma” Farmer was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all. A sincere christian has gone to her reward. It was a pleasure to all to talk to her, and her chief topic of conversation was “Christ and Him crucified.”

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church here, of which she had been a valued member for many years. Rev. C. F. Johnson, the pastor, preached a good sermon from Phil 1:21. A large congregation was in attendance. The church was beautifully decorated. Tender hearts and thoughtful hands also draped her chair in black and white.

The whole community mourns her departure. Several from abroad attended the services. “The joyous bells of Easter from far across the sea, bring her the endless music of immortality.”
