SUDDEN DEATH. –From Sheriff Wilson we learn that Mrs. George Wright, of Eagle Grove, died very suddenly last Friday morning, the bursting of a blood vessel being the supposed cause. Mrs. Wright was the daughter of John Wasem, Esq. of that place, and a lady who stood deservedly high in the estimation of all who knew her.

In common with others, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved husband and relatives in the great loss that has befallen them.

Died, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Feb. 25th, 1887, Katharine A., wife of George Wright; of paralysis of the heart. Born in Eagle Grove, Feb. 12th, 1857. Aged 30 years.

The death of Mrs. Wright was a sorrowful surprise to everyone. It was entirely unexpected and unlooked for, and caused general sorrow among all her friends and acquaintances. In the history of Eagle Grove, death has caused no greater loss than this.

Mrs. Wright, nee Wasem, was the first child born in Eagle Grove township. Her parents moved here from New York state in the fall of 1856, and are among our oldest settlers. Her father, mother, five brothers and one sister are left.

In October, 1877, she was married to George Wright. Their family consisted of three children, two sons and a daughter. Mrs. Wright has usually enjoyed good health up to the time of her death, and that occurred so suddenly, so unexpectedly as to cause a shock to all who knew her. As far as we can learn blood clot in the heart was the cause of the paralysis, and this is one of those unforeseen accidents which seldom happen, and which medical skill has little power to prevent. In hundreds of cases, it might not occur again. When once the heart is clogged in this way, nothing but a stimulation of its action can eliminate the cause, and this, in Mrs. Wright's case, was tried unsuccessfully.

The funeral services took place at the Congregational church last Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Rev. I. N. Tomes delivered the address. The remains were then taken to the Goldfield cemetery, and interred there. The services at the church were fully attended, there was not room for all who came. About 30 sleigh-loads accompanied the remains to Goldfield, the largest funeral there has ever been here.

Mrs. Wright was well known and esteemed by all our people, and was a woman of excellent qualities. Her death is a great loss to her many friends, to her husband and young family an incomparable one. The sympathy of the whole community is extended to the sorrowing family.
