8 August 2024Delores E. “Dee” Boysen, age 85, of Hinton, IA, (formerly of Danbury, IA) passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Accura HealthCare of Le Mars, IA.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2024, at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Nathan Peitsch will officiate. Committal Service will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Danbury, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa.

Delores “Dee” Elaine Boysen, was born March 6, 1939, in Climbing Hill, Iowa, to Carl and Marie (Meins) Bierwirth. Dee grew up in rural Anthon and graduated from Anthon High School with the class of 1957.
On July 21, 1962, Dee was united in marriage to John A. Boysen, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, IA, and the couple settled in Danbury. Dee was a hard worker and caregiver running an in home daycare, caring for elderly adults in their homes, and various other jobs. She enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flowers, garden, and yard. Dee loved a good conversation and discussing the weather over a hot cup of coffee with her neighbors and friends. She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton Iowa.
Dee’s greatest passion in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was the best “Nana” in the world to those who loved her the most.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cynthia (Byron) Jauer of Hinton, IA; son Randy (Julie) Boysen of Bentonville, AR.; grandsons Devin and Joel Jauer both of Hinton, Iowa; granddaughters Rachael (Connor) Deen of Cabot, AR, and Katie Boysen of Bentonville, AR; sister Joyce Kruse of Mapleton, IA; brother Bud Bierwirth of Le Mars, IA; three nieces Brenda (Greg) Wilkins of Missouri Valley, IA, Sue Kruse of Mapleton, IA, and Kim (Paul) Bierwirth of Le Mars, IA; great nephews Paul (Beth) Wilkins and Clay (Jaiden) Wilkins both of Missouri Valley, IA, and great-great niece Maeve Wilkins of Missouri Valley, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Boysen; parents Carl and Marie Bierwirth; sister-in-law Rita Bierwirth; nephew Mike Kruse; brother-in-law Marvin Kruse; sister-in-law Leona (Chuck) Montague.
