Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bechtel of St. Cloud, Minn., attended the funeral of Mrs. Slabiska at St. Clements’ church last week Thursday.

Death came to Grandmother Slabiska at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joseph Slabiska at Calmar last Tuesday March 21sht.{sic} She ailed for quite a time and was 78 years old at the time of her death. Her remains were brought to St. Clements’ church, about one mile south of town, where the funeral took place, and she was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Thos. Ballon performed the ceremony. She leaves to mourn her loss Mrs. Jos. Slabiska of Calmar, and three daughters, who live at Chicago, and sons Anton, Joseph, Henry, George and Will Reihle, who lived in this vicinity. The funeral was very largely attended.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Anna Riehle whose second husband was Wenzel Slebiska. She was born Mar. 11, 1837 and died Mar. 30, 1914 which does not agree with the above. She is buried in St. Clements Cemetery. Slebiska and Riehle were misspelled.
