Death of J. C. Webster.
The community was greatly shocked yesterday afternoon to learn of the death at noon of J. C. Webster at Mercy hospital in Chicago where on Sunday last he underwent an operation for gallstones. He underwent a similar operation about five years ago but has had severe recurrent attacks which necessitated another operation in the hope of relief. He had several attacks after leaving Cresco last Friday and the weakened condition in which they left him probably cased a failure to rally from the operation.
It is expected that the remains will arrive in Cresco on Saturday morning for interment in the family lot in the Kendallville cemetery, with the funeral in charge of the Masonic fraternity.
