Funeral services were held Monday afternoon Feb. 11, in the Methodist Church here for Charles W. Jewell. He was born in (Winneshiek County) Iowa, Nov. 29 1902 and passed away at St. Vincent's Hosp. on Feb. 8, 1957. He was the son of Frank and Ida Moore Jewell and the husband of Leota Loop Jewell, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1952.
Mr. Jewell operated Chuck's Br. Co. Men's Shop here. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Nashville, Lions Club and the Br. Co. A.A. Club.
Survivors besides his wife are: two sisters Mrs. E.M. Barnard of Kansas City and Mrs. Nellie Meyrick of Nashville and a stepson, Max Loop of Nashville. Services were conducted by Rev. Edward Simon assisted by Rev. E.G. Arnold. Bond's Funeral Home had charge of the services and burial was in the Greenlawn Cem. The pallbearers were all members of the Lions Club.
