Elijah Johnson, son of Exuma and Alice Johnson, was born in Logan county, Ohio, Jan 25, 1826. And passed peacefully away Feb. 7, 1913, at his home near Hesper, Iowa. He was united in marriage with Louisa Talbert, daughter of Elihu and Lecretia C. Talbert, May 17, 1854. To them were born six children, three of whom were present at the close. William F., Florence B. Nelson and Bertha M. Worth,--Eva J., Charles and Clement having passed away in early childhood. The funeral was held from the Friends church here Sunday forenoon. A large congregation assembled to pay their last respects to one who through long years of acquaintance had won the confidence, esteem and love of all.
