The following is a synopsis of information contained in the Wapello County History book dated 1986. I believe that much of the information comes from Marie Katherine (Katie) Ritchie.

Della May Morris, daughter of George Washington Morris and Margaret Ann Cherrington was born on 6 July 1876 in Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa and died on 30 Mar 1940 in Agency, Wapello County, Iowa. She is buried in Agency, Cemetery.

She married David Farquhar on 13 Oct 1901 in Humeston, Wayne County, Iowa. David Farquhar was born on 4 Apr 1880 in Humeston and died on 3 Jul 1941 in Ottumwa. The had 4 children:

1. Duane Lloyd Farquhar, born 20 Jun 1902 in Garden Grove, Iowa. He died on 10 Feb 1967 in San Francisco, California
2. Florence Lillian Farquhar, born 3 July 1904 in Garden Grove. She died 6 Jan 1948 in Ottumwa. She married Lester Henry Crable on 23 Nov 1920 in Ottumwa.
3. William Luther Farquhar, born 5 May 1907 in Ottumwa. He died on 3 Dec 1963 in Ottumwa.
4. Lera Rose Farquhar, born 28 Sep 1908 in Ottumwa and died on 25 May 1995 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She married ________Holmes.

Della next married Marlin B. Ritchie. Marlin and Della had 2 children:

1. James P. Ritchie, born 12 Oct 1916 in Ottumwa and died on 8 Feb 1993 also in Ottumwa.
2. Marie Katherine (Katie) Ritchie, born 17 Aug 1919 in Ottumwa. She died on 29 Oct 1995 also in Ottumwa. She married (1) _______ Johnson and (2) Orville E. (Curley) Foglesong in 1956.

Marlin's second wife was Mamie Frances Thompson. She was born on 22 Dec 1888 near Floris, Wapello County, Iowa, the 8th and final child of Henry Thompson and Annie Rodgers.

With regard to her marriages - "Mamie had picked out a young man, her father forbid it and chose one the thought had better prospects. At 17 Mamie married him. The marriage was not blessed with children. They farmed and after 25 years of stormy life, Mamie unskilled and unknowing of city life, came to Ottumwa and got a job washing dishes in restaurant where Marlin Ritchie often ate. They married on January 3, 1931"

There is a marriage in the Wapello county records where a Mamie Thompson married Alfred Towers on 16 Jan 1916, however that would make Mamie 28, not 17, so don't know if it is the same Mamie or not.

The Wapello County History book has about 7 pages on the Ritchie, Foglesong, Thompson, Shane families including numerous photos. If you would like additional information from the book let me know.
