I found Richard W. Porter (not POTTER) Civil War Vet Co F 8th IA CAV; burial at Geneseo Cemetery, Rice County Kansas.

Entered as a Private at Appanoose County Iowa July 28, 1863; CO F 8th IA CAV; mustered Sep 6, 1863; taken prisoner July 30, 1864, Neuman Georgia, parolled; mustered out as a Private June 5, 1865 Clinton County, Clinton, Iowa. Thanks to everybody for their help!

Richard W. Porter b: Dec 12, 1845 died July 5, 1929 or 1939. His wife Mary E. & son Bert are also buried here with several other Porter burials. A person is sending me a picture to add to the site.
