In Response To: Sarah Georgia Parker Schreiner obit (GENNIE)

I have done some checking and it is my opinion that neither Georgia or her husband died in Ottumwa.

I have checked all the cemetery records for Ottumwa and can find no listing for them or any Schreiner. A couple of things I did locate that might aid you in looking for them. Most of this is from City Directories.

Georgia's husband was McCormick O. Schreiner. He went by the name of Mac (not Max). He was a cabinet and pattern maker. About 1927 they moved to 620 N. Court in Ottumwa. They are both listed in the 1936 City Directory, but do not appear in the 1937 or any later directory. They may have found keeping their own house to be too much work and they may have moved in with their children.

In the late 1920s and early 1930s there was a Schreiner Motor Company in Ottumwa run by a Lief Schreiner, Schreiner is an unusual name in Ottumwa and I would guess that Lief and Mac are somehow related. Lief and the motor company disappear at about the same time as Mac and Georgia.
