Talked to an old Sutton family member that still lives in Ottumwa and he believed that Blanche Sutton may have been the first daughter of Clarence Sutton, but have no proof of that. You might be able to order the birth certificate from the Wapello County Clerk of Court.

The 1900 census shows a Clarence Sutton with wife Nora and daughter Marie aged 2. They had been married 6 years. Nora indicates that she has had 2 children with one living.
