I have information that places my great great grandfather in wapello or union appanoose county in iowa in 1860 census. after that it's like he fell off the face of the earth. I am looking for any information you can help me with. I know he was born in 1812 in New York and that he married Antoinette Tadlock in 1845 in Illinois. They had a son i know John, Benjamin & Mary. Suspected children are Alex, Alvin, Alfred, George & Emmett but i have no proof of the last ones. Some say he was a farmer, shoe maker or mail agent. Not sure about any of those. I was going to make a trip to Ottumwa because i heard that was the county seat for this area but i thought if you can find any information for me before i make the long trip i would appreciate it. Someone told me he was buried in a Kelly cemetary but i can't find that either. Also a Center or Cooper cemetaries were mentioned. Are there any of those cemetaries in your county.
