In Response To: WAPELLO COUNTY IOWA POOR FARM CEMETERY (Mary)

I have traced my grandmother, Agnes Facsko, from the coal mine camps of Colorado and New Mexico to the Wapello County Home and Insane Asylum as it is called on the 1930 Federal Census. I believe that this is possibly another name for the County Poor Farm. She disappeared in 1923 after my grandfather threw her out and brought home a new, much younger wife. She left behind 5 children. As adults they attempted to find her through the Red Cross and the Salvation Army but were unsuccessful. This was a source of great sadness for my Dad to the end of his life.
I have attempted to follow the link on this query to findagrave but nothing comes up for the Wapello Co Poor Farm cemetery. I don't know if Agnes died there or perhaps was moved to one of the State Asylums (Mt Pleasant is nearby). My research shows that the County Poor Farm burned down in 1936.
The 1930 Fed census gives her age as 48 but she would have been 38-40 in that year. Perhaps she appeared older due to the troubled life I imagine she lived. Everything else on the census is correct except that Facsko is her maiden name and she was not a widow. Perhaps being one was more acceptable in 1930. Wapello Co had several coal mines, maybe she traveled there w/ someone from Colorado. I think she may have had family members in Ohio or Michigan and was trying to reach them.
If anyone could help me in my search I would be grateful for the information.
Thank You, Kathy
