My best guess is that you do not have the correct name for your Wheaton. My search of records would indicate that the person you are looking for is Cyrus Franklin Wheaton. Cyrus Franklin was born in Agency in 1874. He was the son of John S. Wheaton, a dry goods merchant, who was born in Vermont. John's wife was N.S. Wheaton. John and N.S. had at least 2 additional children Ella C. (b. abt 1865) and John D. Wheaton (b. abt 1871).

Cyrus Franklin Wheaton married Rose Alleine Clark on 22 Oct 1876 in Wapello county.

The only Daniel Wheaton I can find was born in Ohio with father born in Vermont and mother born in Virginia. Daniel's wife is listed as Mary. Daniel is not John's brother (John is 65 and Daniel is 59 in 1880) since John lists both his parents as being born in Conn.
