William Green

William A. Green, 77, a former Milton resident, died Thursday, November 8, 1990 at St. Francis Continuation Care Center, Burlington.

Born September 20, 1913 at Pyle, Missouri, he was the son of Samuel and Amir Carroway Green. He married Lealia Mae Reynolds, November 30, 1935 in Virginia, Illinois. She died November 30, 1964 in Burlington. He married Sally Northrup December 31, 1978.

He was a retied laborer and truck driver. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are his wife; six daughters, Dorothy Meeke and Sandra Mattson, both of Davenport, Gloria Jean Gay, Burlington, Amy Tyner, Phoenix, Arizona, Victoria Ried(?), West Burlington, Dixie Baldwin, Keokuk; two sons, William R. Green, Phoenix, Arizona and Donald E. Green, Davenport; one brother, James Green, Burlington; 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Green were held Monday, November 12, 1990 at Prugh's Chapel with Dr. Andrew Pate officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park.
