James Howard

James Lyle Howard, 85, of Burlington, Iowa died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, March 23, 1990 at Burlington Medical Center.

Born May 15, 1904 in Van Buren County, he was the son of Charles and Mattie Leffler Howard. He married Frances M. Jones December 6, 1975 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

He worked for Shaeffer Pen Co., Fort Madison from 1926 to 1969. He was a past master of Stella Lodge 440 of Fort Madison.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Jones-Howard, St. Frances Care Center; two cousins and three brothers-in-law.

The service for Mr. Howard was held Monday, March 26, 1990 in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Frank Tortat officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
