WASHINGTON, Iowa - Cloyce V. Maxwell, 71, of Washington, died Wednesday, May 2, 1990, at Washington County Hospital.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Mary Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Elk Grove Cemetery at Washington. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established.
Maxwell was born May 19, 1918, at Washington, the son of Lloyd and Jenny A. Huffman Maxwell. He was reared and educated in Washington. He married Nina M. Oge July 31, 1937, in Mount Pleasant. On May 19, 1973, he married Marguerite Black Dusenberry at Washington. A member of VFW, he served the Army in World War II. He was a security guard for 28 years at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington, retiring in 1976.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, William R. of Bonaparte, Francis E. of Loveland, Colo., Richard L. of West Burlington; two daughters, Judith Moyer of Burlington, Karen M. Ash of Douds; two step-daughters, JoAnn Davis, Lee Ann McFarland, both of Washington; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a stepgrand-daughter; two brothers, Rodney of Elephant Butte, N.M., and Paul of Kearney, Neb.
