Wesley Lunsford

Wesley Moses Lunsford, 94, of Ottumwa died March 4, 1894, in Van Buren County to James and Helena Eller Lunsford. A resident of Milton most of his life, he was a farmer and nursery stock salesman. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I and was a member of Christian Church in Milton. He married Jessie Farley on Sept. 14, 1920, in Davis County.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Evalee Westhoff of Bloomfield and Bonnie Carlo of Ottumwa; four sons, Jim of Bonaparte, Challace of Birmingham, Ronald of Ottumwa, and Donald of Albia; 37 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Pairilee Wheaton of Milton; and a brother, Bernie of Cantril. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell in 1971.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 1989 at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Roger Carlo officiating. Burial with military rites was in Savannah Cemetery in Savannah.
