Lowenberg funeral Saturday

BATAVIA - The funeral service for Earl Lowenberg will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating.

Lowenberg, 73, of Batavia, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 1988, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

He was born Dec. 31, 1912, in Alfalfa County, Okla., the son of Walter and Mary Rogers Lowenberg.

He lived most of his life in the Batavia area where he had farmed. He married Edith Laughlin in June 1934 in Lancaster, Mo. She died June 3, 1984. He was a cattle buyer and had owned and operated the Batavia Elevator with his father and brother. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Batavia.

He is survived by one brother, Gene of Keosauqua, and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the American Lung Association.
