Coyner Spees

Coyner F. Spees, 74, of Fairfield died at 11 a.m. December 23, 1989, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born March 12, 1915, north of Birmingham to William and Lula Fisher Spees. He married Evelyn Mae Wycokoff on Oct. 30, 1938; she died May 8, 1980.

A former resident of Birmingham, he was a farmer. He graduated from Birmingham High Schoo in 1934 and later moved to Fairfield. He is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield and Old Thresher Association in Mount Pleasant. He worked as a volunteer in the antiques building. He was a member of Bonnett School House and was active in Airstream Caravan.

He is survived by a son, David Spees of Birmingham; five grandchildren; a great grandson; a brother, Eddie Spees of Birmingham; and two sisters, Julia Neuhart of Edina, Minn., and Reba Mae Vogel of Lemoyne, Pa.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Eugene Spees.

The service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1989 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield, the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery in Birmingham.

Memorials may be made to Birmingham Library or the Heart Association.
