Leo L. Wymer

Leo L. Wymer, son of Lonnie and Elsie Collins Wymer, was born February 9, 1934 at Orlean Park, Illinois and died Sunday evening, November 12, 1989 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 55.

He grew up in the Douds community, lived in Fairfield where he was employed by Universal Producing Co., and had lived a number of years in Minneapolis where he was a self-employed drill re-pointer.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Keys, Blaine, Minnesota, Rhonda Blomquist, Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Myra Linsley, Fridley, Minnesota; a son, Kenneth, Griendale, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Daisy Miller, Ottumwa and Thelma Wymer, Galesburg, Illinois; and a close friend with whom he lived, Pete Leuko, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 16, 1989 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds with Reverend Roger Carlo officiating. Interment, with military honors by John Hyson Reneker Post #94 American Legion, Douds was in Leando Cemetery.

A memorial was established for the American Cancer Society.
