Arthur L. Lorton

Arthur L. Lorton, 89, of Gladstone, Illinois died Wednesday, February 15, 1989 at Burlington Medical Center.

Born July 16, 1899, in Bonaparte, he was the son of George and Maude Smith Lorton. He married Merle A. Wagoner April 6, 1956 in Carthage, Illinois.

He was employed as a guard with the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant before retiring. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 73 A.F.&A.M., Bonaparte, and the World War II Veterans, Burlington, and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, two nieces and two nephews.

A graveside committal service for Mr. Lorton was held Friday, February 17, 1989 in Bonaparte Cemetery with the Reverend Fred Malone officiating.
