Francis Woods

Francis Woods, 77, Farmington, died at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 1989 at Keokuk Area Hospital.

Mr. Woods was born December 20, 1911 in Farmington and was a lifelong resident of the community. He owned and operated Woods Color Center for 50 years. He was a past master of Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 227 A.F.&A.M. An Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the American Legion.

He first married Doris White, who preceded him in death. He later married Marion Shriver, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mary Kathleen Lute, Anchorage, Alaska, Virginia Beth Riley, Farmington, and Jane Ann Frazee, rural Alexandria, Missouri; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. His parents were Robert and Mary Lowery Woods.

Services were held Sunday, August 27, 1989 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. The Reverend Fred Malone officiated. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery.

A memorial is being established with the Farmington EMT unit. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.

We cannot adequately express our gratitude to all of our good friends and family for the kindnesses shown us during Francis' illness and death. A special "thank you" to Rev. Fred Malone for his support and prayers. To Hofbauers, Helen and Margaret, the American Legion and Leann, and the United Methodist Women, we are deeply gratiful.

It was Francis wish that a memorial be established to the Farmington EMT's for the service provide our community.
