Valora Jean Cook

Valora Jean Cook, 61, of 1017 Exchange St., died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16 in Keokuk Area Hospital.

She was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Fairmont, Mo., the daughter of Melvin F. and Ota Gaskill Miers. She married Charles J. Cook on Oct. 5, 1949 in Keokuk. She lived in Keokuk most of her life and was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

Survivors include her sons Mark and Matt Cook, both of Keokuk; two grandchildren; two step granddaughters; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 9, 1975, her parents, a brother and one sister.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at DeJong's Funeral Home with Brother Bill Hauser officiating.

Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton, Iowa.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday at DeJong's Funeral Home with the family meeting friends 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
