Louis "Louie" K. Barrow, 51, of Fairfield died at 5:02 p.m. March 26, 1988, at Muscatine General Hospital in Muscatine.
He was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Fairfield to Charles H. and Stella Adaline McCarty Barrow. A resident of Jefferson County his entire life, he was employed by Iowa Electric Light & Power Co. for 27 years. He owned and operated the Why Not Tavern for 22 years and was a member of Eagles Lodge in Fairfield.
He is survived by a daughter, Deb Gilchrist of Ottumwa; a son, Roy of Bonaparte; two grandchildren; a brother, Charles of Fairfield; and a sister, Velma Smith of Mesa, Ariz.
The service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 1988 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
Memorials have been established to the children's departments of the Fairfield Public Library and Bonaparte Public Library.
