Carrie Manley

Carrie Manley, 72, of Fairfield died at 8:10 p.m. Jan. 16, 1988, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

She was born May 29, 1915, in Corsica, S.D., to Abraham and Cornelia Leyden Goemaat. She had llived most of her life in Jefferson County. She married Harold Manley Feb. 28, 1940, in Ottumwa. He died May 6, 1978.

She is survived by a son, Jim of Danville; two grandsons; a sister, Daisy Richey of Fremont, Calif.; and a brother, Boss Goemaat of Birmingham.

The service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1988 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.

Memorials have been established to Jefferson County Park for Wildlife Conservation.
