Debra R. Scheffler

Debra R. Scheffler, 36, of Springfield, Illinois died at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 1987 at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born November 8, 1951 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Leroy and Ruth Seabold Ekle. She married Mark Scheffler in 1975. Her father, Leroy preceded her in death in 1973.

Mrs. Scheffler was a graduate of Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. She was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church and Chi Omega Sorority, and was treasurer of Fairview Elementary School PTO. She was owner and operator of Balloons, Clowns and Things in Springfield.

Surviving are her husband, Mark; one son, Barrett J., at home; one daughter, Brooke D., at home; her mother, Ruth Ekle of Farmington, Iowa; one sister, Condra Anderson of Maryville, Missouri; and two brothers, Richard Ekle of Farmington, Iowa and Thomas Ekle of Waterman.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 27, 1987 at Laurel United Methodist Church with Reverend George Russell and Reverend John Jamison officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Bisch Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
