Elwood "Alec" Hartrick, 74, Keokuk, died at 1 a.m. November 10, 1986 at Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born January 6, 1912 in Farmington, a son of S.O. and Eska Barton Hartrick. He married Irene Davis on August 6, 1939 in Dakota City, Nebraska.
He had lived in Keokuk since 1947 and had operated the Artistic Cleaners for 31 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Keokuk Lions Club and the Farmington A.F.&A.M. Mt. Moriah 27.
Survivors include his wife, Irene of Keokuk; sons Robert and James of Keokuk; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Custer of Bloomington, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Saltzgiver of Croton and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12, 1986 at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Rev. Edward Phillips officiating.
Burial was in Green Glade Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Trinity United Methodist Church.
