Emil T. Gardner

Emil T. Gardner, 83, of 1823 Delmar St., Dec. 26, 1987, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Dec. 31, 1903, in Augusta, he was the son of Adrian Lee and Berniece Jane Kentch Grinnell. He married Ida Schilb Aug. 15, 1927, in Prairie Grove. She died July 2, 1908. He then married Zora Brewer Oct. 10, 19081, in Danville.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a life member of the Eagles and Farm Bureau. He retired from Millwright Northwestern Cabinet and Chittenden and Eastman Co. in 1980. he was the caretaker of the New London Country Club.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Tillie (Wendall) Colby, New London, Mrs. Ramona (Doran) Bumgardner, Keosauqua, Mrs. Toots (LeRoy) Underwood, Danville, and Mrs. Vernonica (Wayne) Ertzinger, Burlington; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mr. Grinnell will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. James Zuehls officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Peace Lutheran Church.
