Eugene Thornton, 56, of Farmington, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
He was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Farmington, the son of Fremont Thornton and Marguerite Beeson Van Patton.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington with the Rev. James Rozendaal officiating.
Visitation will be anytime Friday until the time of service at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.
A memorial has been established.
