West Point resident James L. Munford, 48, died at 1:48 p.m. Saturday at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Mr. Munford was born Nov. 24, 1938, at Farmington to Earnest Oliver and Iva Dodson Munford. He married Carol Harrington on June 8, 1968, at Farmington.
He was a resident of West Point for 16 years and had worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown. He was a member and elder of the West Point Presbyterian Church and a member of the West Point American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Carol; a son, Timothy Munford, West Point; stepdaughter, Mrs. Linda (Kevin) Knotts, Burlington; a brother, Terry Munford, Stockport; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte (Leland) Baum, Farmington, and Mrs. Jean (Lawrence) Keller, Bentonville, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington.
The service for Mr. Munford will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hofbauer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.
A memorial has been established, and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
