Roger N. Carter

Roger N. Carter, son of John and Bertha Syfert Carter, was born January 28, 912 at Pierceville, Van Buren County, Iowa and departed this life the evening of Monday, Nov. 23, 1987 at University Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 75.

He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church.

On June 3, 1939 Roger married Dorothy Hooper at Fairfield. They farmed in the Stockport-Hillsboro area and have live in Hillsboro the past 15 years.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, three sons, Gary of Mt. Pleasant and Gene and Gale both of Hillsboro, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, James of Silver Springs, Florida, a sister, Gladys Watson of Hillsboro, other relatives and friends.

An infant son, Roger, Jr., two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 27, 1987 at 10:00 A.M. in the Hillsboro Christian Church with Rev. David Callen officiating. Interment was in Miller Chapel Cemetery northeast of Keosauqua. Memorials were established for the Hillsboro Christian Church and the Hillsboro Community Center and may be sent in care of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
