John W. Benjamin

John W. Benjamin, 57, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, died November 28, 1987 while deer hunting on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

He was born in Primrose, Iowa to the late Herbert and Virgil Huff Benjamin. He married Patricia A. Osweiler, formerly of Bonaparte. She survives.

Benjamin was a graduate of Donnellson High School and received an engineering degree from Iowa State University in Ames. He constructed and flew experimental home-built airplanes and was honored with the Experimental Aircraft Association's Wright Brothers Award in 1986. He operated Flo-Line Systems, Inc., and equipment company, for several years. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Harrisburg Chapter of the Quiet Birdment.

Benjamin was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.

Survivors include his six children, Teresa Murray of Harleysville, Herbert of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kathleen Langsett of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Andrea Francos of Bethlehem, Rita Beck of Lancaster and Patrick of Lancaster; five grandchildren and a brother, Forrest of Donnellson.

Services were held Wednesday, December 2, 1987 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
