Edwin C. Mankin was born near Mt. Sterling, Iowa in 1872 and passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 12, in Minnesota.

He was married in 1892 to Loretta Rockefellow, who passed away in 1944. They moved to Minnesota in 1911 where they remained until 1943 when they came to Bonaparte. Mr. Mankin returned to Minnesota a year or more ago where he made his home until his death.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eva Stonebraker and several nieces and nephews, one foster-son, Verne Shaske and wife Marie and two children of Rush City, Minn.

Funeral services were held at the Bonaparte Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Jan. 15, at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev. J. S. Ellis with burial in Vale cemetery.
