Willa Jeanette Taylor, daughter of Garfield and Willa Kerr Strait, was born June 20, 1923, near Pittsburg and died Friday, November 6, 1987, in the Ottumwa Regional Health Center at the age of 64.

Jeanette graduated from Keosauqua high school and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. She taught in Van Buren County schools for 15 years, most of that time in the Kilbourne school. She was a member of the United methodist Church.

On July 3, 194, Jeanette married John E. Taylor in the chapel of the First Methodist Church in Fairfield. Their married life has been spent farming in Kilbourne community.

Survivors include her husband, John; a sister, Beryl Sherod and her husband, William of Birmingham; a brother, Rex Strait and his wife, Eleanor of Keosauqua; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 9, 1987, at 1:30 p.m. in the Keosauqua United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Dunn and Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Interment was in Kilbourne Cemetery. A memorial was established for the cemetery. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
