Chas. E. Peck Services Were Held Here

Services were conducted Thursday, February 10 at St. John's Catholic Church for Charles Peck, well known resident of Memphis. The funeral mass was given by Father Thomas Dolan and servers were Joey Howard and Stewart Musgrove. Miss Joan Conklin was organist.

Charles Edlin Peck, son of George and Martha Mudd Peck, was born September 17, 1897 in Scotland County and died February 8, 1972, at the Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Ada Gristy on June 15, 1919. To this union ten children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Carlos, his parents, three brothers, Virgil, Ray, and Forest, all of Scotland County.

He is survived by his wife and following children: Mrs. William Purvis, (Verna), Mrs. Roy Clark, (Verlee), Mrs. Billie Shelley, (Joanna), all of Memphis, Mrs. Harvey Musgrove (Joy) of Gorin, Mrs. Stanley Russell (Mary) of Des Moines, Iowa; Cecil Peck, Kansas City; Gerald Peck, Florence South Carolina; Judy Peck, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is also survived by two sisters, Irma Mathes and Beaulah Peck of Memphis, 38 grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. Peck lived his entire life in Scotland County. He was engaged in contracting work and farming. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Memphis.

Paynes of Memphis were in charge of arrangements. Body bearers were his six sons-in-law, and interment was in Memphis cemetery.
