OBITUARY

James Anton Maar was born in rural Buckingham on August 4, 1899, the son of Charles and Emma [Schoemaker] Maar. Jim received his education in a country school and then began working in farming.

On October 15, 1931, Jim married Mamie Keller at Toledo, Iowa, and they made their home on their acreage in Buckingham. Jim and Mamie lived their entire married life there when Jim farmed, worked for other area farmers and drove school bus for over 42 years.

Recently Jim became ill and was transferred from the hospital to Grundy Center Care Center where he died Saturday, January 26, 1991, at the age of 91 years.

Jim is survived by his wife Mamie of Buckingham and several nephews and nieces.
