OBITUARY

ELEANOR KOPRIVA

A Funeral Mass for Eleanor M. Kopriva, 80, of Traer, was held Saturday, April 30 at St. Paul Catholic Church In Traer, with burial at St. Paul Cemetery. She died at home Tuesday evening, April 26, 1994, after having been in ill health the past two years, suffering from cancer.

A scripture service was held Friday evening at OVerton Funeral Home, Traer. Officiating at the Funeral was the Rev. Thomas Purtell. Organist was Bonnie Kopriva and she accompanied the St. Paul Choir. Casket bearers were Nicholas Kubik, Jason Kubik, Ted Welter, Eric Fee, Russell Vlasak and Gregory Sevcik. Tending to floral tributes were Thelma Sienknecht and Alma Caloud. Mass cards were handled by Charlotte Holst and Pat Schmidt.

Eleanor M. Kopriva was born June 24, 1913, in Carroll Township in Tama County, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Podha jsky) Sevcik. Eleanor received her education In country school naar Clutier, and following that, worked for area families in their homes as a nanny.

On Oct. 14, 1930, Eleanor married William Kopriva at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clutier. They made their home farming south of Traer, until moving a few years ago to a home at 1000 South Main Street, Traer.

In her free momente, Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her cbildren and grandchildren, gardening, working with her flowers, and she was an accomplished seamstress. Eleanor was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded In death by her parents, two brothers, Joseph and William; and two sisters, Vera Vlaoak and Dorothy Parizek.

She is survived by her hushand, William, of Traer; three daughters, Mary Jean Kubik of Traer, Teresa Fee of Ackworth, and Karen Welter of Ceder Rapids; one brother, Lester Sevcik of Traer; three sisters, Blanche Rabik of Traer, MIldred CalkIns of Des Moines, and Evelyn Esch of Madison, Wis.; 12 grandcbildren and four great-grandcbildren.
