OBITUARY

STANLEY HALUPNIK

Funeral services for Stanley Halupnik, 80, of Traer, were held Friday morning, Jan. 17, 1997, at the United Methodist Church in Traer with the Rev. Marshall Monthei officiating. Burial was at Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Stanley died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, AZ, following a short illness.

Music for the funeral service was provided by Joleen Edwards and Linda Withers.

Casket bearers were Dirk Halupnik, Larry Halupnick, Jim Halupnik, Mark Halupnik, Bill Kuba and Calvin Trepp. Honorary bearers included Paul Olson, Erwin Paulson, Merlin Untiet, Ernest Weaver and Kenneth Strohbehn. Floral tributes were handled by Mr. and Mrs. Pressley Cochran and Mr. and Mrs. Lyal Owens.

Stanley Halupnik was born southwest of Traer May 3, 1916, the son of Joseph and Barbara (Sevcik) Halupnik. Stan received his education in country school and then began farming with his father.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Pippert of Dysart on Dec. 28, 1939. The couple made their home farming south of Traer.
In 1969 the Halupnik's son, Wayne, took over the farming operation and Stan and Dorothy moved to Traer to make their home on Walnut Street. Stan enjoyed going to the farm until Wayne's death in 1980.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

In free moments Stan enjoyed planting trees, conserving the soil, playing cards and fishing with friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Wayne; one grandson, David; one brother, Leonard; and four sisters, Rose Burhenn, Matilda Kuba, Marie Beck, and Margaret Halupnik.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Ben Halupnik of Spirit Lake and two sisters, Barbara Harrison of Bakersfield, CA, and Dorothy Ferguson of Horseshoe Bay, TX; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.
