OBITUARY

FON A. FAUST

Fon A. Faust, 90, of Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer and formerly of Marshalltown died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown with the Revs. Jerald Swanberg and Marshall Monthei of Traer officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown. Serving as organist for the funeral service was Jan Hugen; vocalist was the Rev. Jennifer Daniel. Casket bearers were Shawn Faust, Stephen Faust, Monty Woodward, Mark Woodward, Darin Woodward, Kevin Woodward and D. James Faust. Honorary bearers were Aaron Faust, Trevor Woodward, Coryn Woodward and Logan Woodward.

Fon A. Faust was born May I5, 1906, in St. Charles, Iowa, to Arthur AIdon and Eva Mae (Peffley) Faust He received his education and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1924. He later attended the Capital City Commercial College and the University of Iowa.

On Feb. 24, 1934 he was united in marriage to C. Jeanette McEldowney in Fontanelle. The couple moved to Marshalltown in 1937 where he was employed by the Fisher Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 1971. He and his wife moved to the Beaverdale Estates in Des Moines in 1994 and came to Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer in 1995. Fon was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church, a former member of the Marshalltown First United Methodist Church, the Homebuilder's Club, the United Methodist Men's Club, Marshalltown Evening Lions and the Fisher's 25 Year Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Charles and Forest. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Traer; a son, Donald Faust of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Marilyn) Roberts of Marshalltown; one brother, Dean of Rogers, Ark.; six grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons and three step-great-grandchildren. I A memorial fund has been eslablished in his name.
