OBITUARY

Marion Grace Chekal was born June 30, 1904 at Traer, Iowa, the daughter of Frank William and Abbie (Findley) Hotzel. Marion attended school at old Buckingham Country School and later graduated from Traer High School. She then taught country school, worked as a telephone operator, worked for Ted Moeller in the jewelry store and for over 25 years was employed for Dean Wilson Dry Goods.

On February 2, 1942 she was united in marriage to Emil Chekal and they made their home in Traer. After Emil's death on August 11, 1999 Marion continued to make her home in Traer. More recently she has been a resident of the Sunnycrest Care Center in Dysart where her death came on Friday, September 22, 2000 at the age of 96 years.

In free moments, Marion and Emil enjoyed traveling and spent many years wintering in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Emil. She is survived by a nephew Gerald Hotzel of Janesville, Iowa, and two nieces Ruth Nuenkirch of Arizona and Betty Wendt of Texas.

Following the conmmittal services at the cemetry, family and friends are invited to the Masonic Hall for a time of food and fellowship.
