OBITUARIES—MRS. ALBERT L. KRAMER

Mrs. Albert L. Kramer died Monday evening, June 3, at Sheldon at the age of 50 years, 2 months, and 12 days after an illness of about 4 months. The cause of death was complications resulting from pneumonia.

She was born at Hospers, March 22, 1890 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Dyke. On December 6, 1907 she married Albert L. Kramer at Hospers. After her marriage she resided in Sheldon with the exception of 3 years spent in Colorado and Nebraska.

She is survived by her widower and three children: Bertha, Mrs. Jim Jorgensen of Sioux City; Albert J. of Sheldon and William C. of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. W. L. Dyke of Sheldon; and 6 sisters and 4 brothers: Lib Dyke, Fairmont, N.Dak., Ben of Sioux City Margaret, Dorothy, Marion and Ramona, all of St. Paul, Minn., Dennis of Alexandria, Katherine of Sibley and Stella and Paul of Sheldon.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, June 5, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Rev. Lutman in charge. Interment was made in the East Lawn cemetery at Sheldon.

Her death certificate (informant Albert Kramer) has Grace Kramer, wife of Albert Kramer; born March 22, 1890 in Hospers; parents Wiebe Dyke and Anna Van Dyke, both born in Holland; resident of Sheldon 38 years; died at 6:15 p.m. June 3, 1940; cause, cardiac failure, duration 2 years; other conditions, luetic. An annotation says “(over),” but no reverse side is present online.

Her FindaGrave.com page shows her as Grace Dyke Kramer, 1890-1940; parents Wybe Libbe Dyke (1854-1925) and Attje Van Dyk Dyke (1859-1892); two siblings and seven half-siblings are listed; spouse Albert Louis Kramer (1880-1957). There is a photo of her headstone.

The Sioux County marriage register for 1907/1908 has groom Albert L. Kramer, age 28, resident of Sioux County, a farmer, born in Iowa, parents Albert Kramer and [no forename] Johnson; bride Grace Dyk, age 28, resident of Sioux County, born in Iowa, parents W. L. Dyk and [no forename] Van Dyk; married in Hospers December 6, 1907.

Census records show her husband to have worked as a farm laborer.
