Henrietta “Girlie” Dibbet, 94 of Sioux Center, Iowa died, Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Crown Pointe Care Center in Sioux Center.

A prayer service will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the First Christian Reformed Church. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. The service will be livestreamed at: Watch Services Live - First Christian Reformed Church (firstcrc.com)

Visitation with the family present will be held from 5-7PM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

The Dibbet family prefer memorials be directed to Sioux Center Christian School or Unity Christian High School.

Henrietta Dibbet was born February 22, 1927, to Bart and Hattie (Lammers) Van Donge at Sioux Center. She was united in marriage to John Dibbet on February 3, 1949, in Sioux Center. Henrietta (Girlie) and John farmed on an acreage near Sioux Center, later moving to a farm near Maurice, where they raised their 3 children. Henrietta moved to Sioux Center in 1974 following the passing of her husband, John. In 2017 she moved to Crown Pointe Estates.

Henrietta loved to work outside, including a large garden, helping out with chores, raising chickens, and selling eggs locally. After moving to Sioux Center in 1974, she began working at Dordt College for 27 ˝ years where she was very much appreciated for her "Dutch cleanliness".

Henrietta enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, sharing her garden produce, but most of all enjoyed cooking for her family, and spending countless hours of family time together.

Henrietta was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center and attended the Ruth's Society and Gleaner’s Forum.

Surviving Henrietta are her two daughters, Deb and Kevin Hulstein (Sioux Center, IA), and Donna and Brian Obbink (Hawarden, IA); 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, along with her sister-in-law, Arlene Hoogendoorn; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Stan Dibbet; and grandson Rick Hulstein; one sister, Florence (Al) Hooyer; two brothers: Rich (Ida) Van Donge and Herman (Nellie) Van Donge; in-laws: Alice (William) Van Voorst; Rich (Junaida) Dibbet; Gertrude (John) Draayer; Jack (Priscilla) Dibbet; Joan (Raymond) Maassen; and Alvin Hoogendoorn.
